- Key functions & working principle
| Working Principle |
1. Engaged State: Pressure springs force the pressure plate against the clutch disc, clamping it between the pressure plate and engine flywheel. Torque is transmitted from the flywheel → clutch disc → transmission input shaft. |
| 2. Disengaged State: When the clutch pedal is pressed, the release bearing pushes the pressure plate (push-type) or pulls the diaphragm spring (pull-type), releasing pressure on the clutch disc. The disc rotates freely, disconnecting engine power from the transmission (enabling gear shifts). |
| 3. Re-engagement: Releasing the pedal allows the pressure spring to re-clamp the disc, resuming torque transfer with smooth power delivery. |
